GENERAL PROJECT CONTRIBUTION

The surau’s light attracted my heart..
"AT that time... in the year 2000, we still had no electricity here. Only this surau has lights, because there is a generator.
"Because only the surau has electricity, the light always attracts me to come to the surau and it's fun to see people learning to recite the Quran.
"So, I always come to surau to see people studying. During school, I rarely attended moral education classes, because I chose to attend Islamic studies classes.
"For native people, it is quite difficult to learn the Qur'an, especially in pronouncing the letter 'ر'.
"Although my parents have not converted to Islam, but one day, I am sure they will say the Kalimah Syahadah."
Even though he embraced Islam only a few years ago, Ustaz Syukri Yahya's enthusiasm and determination to learn and spread Islam among the native people in Kuala Mu.
As a result of his hard work, Ustaz Syukri Yahya was awarded the “Tokoh Belia Orang Asli 2022” for the Kuala Kangsar district to appreciate his contribution and hard work.
Now he volunteers as Iqra Al Husna Class Instructor for the natives of Kuala Mu under the supervision of Yayasan Ikhlas.
